In 2010, the city of Cluses wanted to create a free cultural project, offering for professionals and amateurs, a festival dedicated to snow pictures.

To photograph in the cold is known to be a difficult exercise, and photograph the whites requires an extreme control of the light and the camera settings.

For this 5th Edition, we present at the festival “Images & Neige”, the pictures of Snow Monkeys taken in Japan in winter.

In the snowy mountains of Jigokudani, on Honshu island, the area is showing impressive sceneries, a strange mix between snow and high geothermal activity. The monkeys that lives in those cold latitudes, found here their paradise, bathing in natural hot springs waters.

You will discover this amazing show of the nature, and discover during three days of this Festival, great exhibits, movies and animations.
